Carolina Alban Conto

Research Manager

Carolina is a senior professional with 15 years of experience in international development, specializing in evidence-based decision-making and co-creating strategies for policy innovation. With a PhD from the Paris School of Economics she focuses on applied research and policy formulation, particularly in the fields of education and social affairs. Carolina currently serves as a Research Manager at UNICEF Innocenti – Global Office of Research and Foresight. Prior to this, she led the Research & Development program at UNESCO-IIEP’s Africa Office, sharing a new agenda for evidence generation and innovation in education with a particular emphasis on equity. Earlier in her career, Carolina led the development cooperation program at the Colombian Embassy in Paris, worked as a policy analyst at the OECD, and provided strategic advice to the Colombian Institute for Educational Evaluation (ICFES). She has also conducted applied policy research at UNICEF, the World Bank, IEDES (France), DIAL (France), and Del Rosario University (Colombia).
