The African Union Youth Division has invited, and is fully funding, an education expert and a statistician from ADEA’s Working group on Education Management and Policy Support (WGEMPS) to offer technical assistance in a writing workshop for the Mid-Term Review of the African Youth Decade Plan of Action (DPoA) (2009-2018).

The Ministries of Higher Education of Burkina Faso and Zimbabwe in collaboration with ADEA WGEMPS have produced policy briefs based on the findings of Institutional Record Keeping and Management Studies carried out in both countries between 2010 and 2013.

Based on a request made by the SADC Secretariat at its recent annual ministers meeting in Maputo, Swaziland and Botswana were designated to undergo a SADC Peer Review of their EMIS systems based on the SADC EMIS Norms and Standard Framework approved in 2012.

The 7th Meeting of the Committee of Directors General of National Statistics Offices took place in Johannesburg, South Africa, December 5-7, 2013. The objectives of the meeting were to consider the status and challenges inherent in the production and use of economic statistics.

In 2011, within the framework of the theme of Common Core skills for lifelong learning and sustainable development in Africa, the ADEA Working Group on Education Management and Policy Support of ADEA conducted studies around the theme of Education Reconstruction in Post Crisis Countries in Kenya, Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), Liberia and Zimbabwe.
