Financing pathways to sustain gains in foundational learning in Africa
Since the bold commitment African Ministers of Education made in Kigali last November, to ending learning poverty within a decade, the ecosystem has experienced resource instability following cutbacks in Official Development Assistance (ODA) for critical development initiatives in education and skills programs. This has cast uncertainty over many foundational learning initiatives.
However, there is hope still. In the face of all these, how can African governments sustain their commitments and mobilize, and use better available, domestic resources to protect the progress made in foundational learning?
