The meeting will seek expert advice on various ongoing elements of the conference preparations.
The International Steering Group (ISG) was set up in June 2011 as a consultation body for the Task Force for the World Conference on Education for Sustainable Development that will mark the end of the UN Decade of Education for Sustainable Development (DESD) in 2014. The ISG is made up of 12 experts on ESD representing different world regions and diverse sectors.
The ISG will ensure that a maximum of expertise is mobilized for the organisation of the conference and that the concerns of all world regions as well as the full scope of ESD are reflected in the programme.
