ADEA reaches out to Morocco’s Ministry of Higher Education, ISESCO HQs and AfDB field office

As part of the preparation of the next ADEA’s Triennale, scheduled in Morocco in 2016/2017, ADEA’s delegation – composed of its Executive Secretary, Ms. Oley Dibba-Wadda; the Education Division Chief of the Social and Human Development Department (OSHD) of the African Development Bank Group (AfDB) and also member of the ADEA Executive Committee, Mr. Etienne Porgo; and the ADEA External Relations and Strategic Partnership officer, Ms. Ramata Almamy Mbaye – undertook from September 7th to 10th, 2015 its first preparatory mission in the Kingdom of Morocco.

This mission allowed the Executive Secretary of ADEA to meet with the Director of the AfDB Field Office in Morocco, Ms. Yacin Fal and discuss about the importance of strengthening the cooperation between the Bank - through its field representation – and ADEA, for the next Triennale.

ADEA’s delegation was also received by His Excellency, Mr. Lahcen Daoudi, Morocco’s Minister of Higher Education, Scientific Research and Executive Training, the Secretary General of the Ministry, Mr. Aboussalah; Director of Higher Education and Teaching Development, Mr. Mohamed Tahiri and Leila Jaffor, Education Specialist, AfDB Field office in Morocco. During the meeting, the discussions focused on the possible organization of the Triennale in Morocco and on the collaboration at multiple levels, between ADEA and the Kingdom of Morocco.

Lastly, ADEA’s delegation was welcomed by the Director General of the Islamic Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ISESCO), Dr. Abdulaziz Othman Altwaijri. The working session – aimed to review the collaboration between ADEA and ISESCO – was attended by Mr. Mamadou Kone, Programs Specialist in International Relations, Directorate of External Relations and Cooperation, as well as Dr. Mustafa A. Ali, Supervisor of External Relations and Cooperation.

This mission contributed to enhance the relationship between ADEA and the Kingdom of Morocco.
