The 42nd Session of the ADEA Steering Committee held in Abidjan at the African Development Bank Group (AfDB), from Thursday 3rd December to Saturday 5th 2015, was an important opportunity not only for discussing on the ADEA’s sustainability, transitioning and ownership by African member countries, but also for renewing the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the Japanese International Cooperation Agency (JICA) and the Association for the Development of Education in Africa (ADEA).

By signing the above mentioned MoU, the Japanese International Cooperation Agency renewed its remarkable full member subscription to ADEA membership, which entitles JICA to receive some of the following quality services provided by the Association: Invitation to ADEA meetings, including the Steering Committee sessions and the Triennales on Education in Africa; Access to ADEA’s networks, working groups, publications, databases and so forth.

The MoU has been signed at the end of the 3-day meeting of the 42nd Session of the ADEA Steering Committee, by Mr. Eiro Yonezaki, JICA Chief Representative in Côte d’Ivoire and Ms. Oley Dibba-Wadda, ADEA Executive Secretary.
