Workshop Objectives

The main workshop objective is to submit for ownership and technical validation to all 6 North African countries the draft EMIS Norms and Standards and their Evaluation Framework developed by Morocco and Egypt with ADEA and ISESCO support. After this validation phase, these Norms and Standards will be submitted for adoption to all Ministers in charge of education and training in the countries concerned. 

Specifically, the workshop aims to: 

  1. technically review, contextualize, improve and validate the draft presented EMIS Norms and Standards and their Evaluation Framework for North Africa;
  2. take into account different post-2015 agendas namely SDG 4 and CESA 16-25 in the EMIS Norms and Standards; 
  3. determine an approach for adopting EMIS Norms and Standards by all Ministers in charge of education and training in the countries concerned.

Expected products

The final, consensual version of the EMIS Norms and Standards and its Evaluation Framework for the North Africa Region.

Expected results

  • The EMIS Norms and Standards and their Evaluation Framework for the North Africa Region are technically validated by the six countries;
  • The way forward for the adoption of the EMIS Norms and Standards and their Evaluation Framework for the North Africa Region by Ministers in charge of education and training in the countries concerned is determined;
  • Networking is being considered among EMIS experts from the North Africa region to increase collaboration and support.
