Processes, Approaches and Pedagogies in Literacy Programs - Case study on the experience of the Institute for Popular Education (IEP) in Mali

This paper is based on a review of selected cases of meaningful interactions between formal and non-formal education in Africa undertaken to assess forms of integration and linkages that currently exist between these education programs. In its analysis, the study adopts a systemic approach which advocates for the recognition of a holistic system of education with linkages between both formal and non-formal systems, seeking to provide optimal structure and preparedness to accomplish the social, economic and human welfare objectives.
