Convergence, Coordination and Integration: Action at a National Level - Eritrea's Integrated Early Childhood Development Program

The Eritrean Integrated Early Childhood Development project became operational in September 2000. The goals of the program were to improve the holistic growth and development of Eritrean children in health, nutrition, cognitive and psychosocial aspects. There are four major components for the implementation of the program: Early Childhood Care and Education, maternal and child nutrition, maternal and child health and support for children in difficult circumstances. The project has been implemented in an integrated way by involving four main line ministries of Labor, Education, Health and Agriculture. The presentation assesses what has been realized and analyzes the impact on communities, families and children.
